“AN AFTERNOON AS A PHOTOGRAPHER AT THE MALAGA CONFERENCE CENTRE.”
The end of the year is approaching and with it, what I call the “months of light”. From October onwards the sun’s rays are lower and parallel, forming long shadows and points of light that at certain times of the day form a magical contrast in my city, Malaga.
On the occasion of the event Talent Woman and invited by my partner in Helize, Marian Jimenez I had the opportunity to spend a few hours of the afternoon at the Palacio de Congresos de Málaga, Fycma. The hours before were very busy in the agency so when I took the car I decided to take only my Fuji Xpro-2, a camera that is being a surprise for me in event photography. Its lightness, discretion combine perfectly with its versatility and power when capturing images. A camera that is rapidly developing in event photography and is perfect for capturing details. Later I will like to make an exclusive post of this mirrorless Fuji Xpro-2 that so many good sensations since Summer is giving me.
The afternoon was quiet and the light in Fycma was magical. I decided to set the camera to the Acros mode to shoot black and white photos, very present these weeks in Instagram. The pictures shown in this post talk about people, gestures, details and I consider that they transport to an atmosphere created from a very objective and photographic point of view. A point of view that corresponds to work with freedom and instinct. I hope you like the result as much as I do.

The beginnings are difficult but surely you have a friend or acquaintance related to a good restaurant to start practicing.
The great food and product photographers I know and admire are masters of lighting and often use flash as their primary light. If you do not have a studio flash I assure you that a Strobist with a well used translucent umbrella can do wonders 🙂
Fixed lenses are increasingly imposed and I am a big fan of them. A good 50mm will offer the perfect focal length and F aperture to make the photographed dishes a sensory experience.
Lightroom, the obligatory final touch before photoshop. Textures, color balances, cross-lighting are essential to make the food show on the camera as appealing (or more) than in our client’s restaurant.
